Quick, Easy, & Flavorful 5 Ingredient Dip
I am a girl that lives for the appetizers and snacks! You can always catch me front and center on Super Bowl Sunday chowing down. Or standing in the kitchen on holidays just dipping away.
I mean appetizers are where it is at. You get so many different little bites of savory, delicious, and often cheesy foods.
Dips are of course my favorite of them all. They are truly the perfect appetizer! You get the crunch of whatever you’re dipping and the creamy tasty flavor of the dip itself. It is the best of both worlds.
And Baked Salsa Cream Cheese Dip is one of my favorite dips I have every made. It is one of the easiest dips too!
This 5 ingredient recipe has a cream cheese base, a flavorful salsa middle, and a golden brown, ooey-gooey cheesy topping. It is beyond incredible!
Truly a must serve at game days, holiday parties, and anything in between. I promise your whole family and all your friends will be thanking you!
Ingredients
This cream cheese salsa dip recipe only calls for 5 simple ingredients – and two of them are already in the name!
Ingredient Notes
- Cream Cheese: Regular cream cheese is the base of this easy appetizer! You will need 1 block of cream cheese.
- Sour Cream: Sour cream is the other base here! It combines with the cream cheese to make the creamiest, tastiest base layer. 1/2 cup is all you need.
- Salsa: Perhaps the main ingredient here is a jar of salsa! It truly brings the best flavor. I recommend using 1 cup of pace picante.
- Mexican Cheese: This creamy salsa dip is topped with a thick layer of Mexican style shredded cheese. It is so dang delicious! 1 cup is perfect.
- Green Onions: Green onions are an optional ingredient, but one I highly recommend. They add both a great look and taste!
Substitutions & Additions
This simple recipe does not have too many ingredients to begin with, therefore there are not too many changes that can be made.
However, here are some ideas for substitutions and additions to make this dip meet your personal preferences, tastes, or need!
Salsa: The best way to switch up this easy cream cheese dip is with the salsa! You could use mild salsa, chunky salsa, hot salsa, or even green salsa. Truly whatever you’d like.
Cheese: You could replace the Mexican blend cheese here with any cheese of your choice. But I think cheddar would provide the second best results!
Mix-Ins & Toppings: There are so many additional mix-ins and toppings you could add to this dip! A layer of refried beans or corn would be delicious. Shredded lettuce, avocado, red onion, and jalapeño would all be a great addition for on top too!

Frequently Asked Questions
I used and recommend using pace picante sauce for this dip! It is pretty much a less chunky salsa.
But you can totally just use your favorite salsa or whatever you have on hand. Anything will work!
This dip is best served with tortilla chips! Veggie sticks, crackers, or pretzels would also be great dippers.
Totally! In fact, there are many variations of cream cheese and salsa dip meant to be enjoyed cold. I think this recipe is delicious at room temperature too!
Simply skip the baking and just enjoy straight away or place in the fridge for a few minutes.
Store this recipe in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
However, if sits in the fridge for a little bit the salsa juices may start to separate a bit. Therefore, I recommend popping back in the oven to heat back up into bubbly melty goodness.
Yes, you can! Prepare the dip up until baking, cover with foil, and place in the fridge.
Then when it is time to serve simply bake in the oven for the instructed time.
However, I only recommend preparing 1-2 days in advance.
