Pesto Flatbread Pizzas

Give me pizza and pasta everyday for the rest of my life and I will be a happy girl. What can I say? Anything carby and cheesy just makes me happy. Especially if I can make it in my own kitchen and have it on my plate in under 30 minutes. Pesto Flatbread Pizzas are just that!

Pesto Flatbread Pizzas are made with naan flatbread, fresh mozzarella cheese, colorful cherry tomatoes, balsamic glaze, and fresh basil! They’re crispy, cheesy, and loaded with flavor. These easy homemade flatbreads take no time at all and will be a hit with everyone!

Ingredients needed for Pesto Pizza Flatbread…

These easy flatbreads only call for a few simple & delicious ingredients! You’ll need lots of cheese & lots of flavor.

  • Naan Flatbread: Naan flatbread is the base of these pesto pizzas … the dough if you will! You could use a plain flatbread or even a garlic flavored one. You will need 2! Here are the ones I used.
  • Pesto: Pesto is the sauce on these flatbreads. Use 1/4 cup of your favorite one!
  • Mozzarella Cheese: The most important part of any pizza … cheese! You will need 8 oz of fresh mozzarella cheese. Or however much your heart desires!
  • Tomatoes: Grape tomatoes add a delicious taste and beautiful look to these pesto flatbread pizzas. Use 1 cup of sliced tomatoes.
  • Olive Oil: Drizzle these pizzas with a drizzle of olive oil. You’ll need about 2 tbsp!
  • Balsamic Glaze: Balsamic glaze adds so much delicious flavor here. Drizzle as much as you’d like!
  • Seasonings: Add garlic powder, oregano, and pepper to your flatbreads. Again, however much you like!
  • Fresh Basil: Fresh basil is the perfect final touch to these pizzas, but is totally optional.

How to make this Easy Flatbread Pizza Recipe…

Pesto Flatbread Pizzas are an easy 30 minute recipe! But I swear they taste like they’re straight from a restaurant. It’s the best!

  1. Set the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Add the flatbreads to a baking sheet.
  3. Divide the pesto between each flatbread and spread evenly.  Add the mozzarella cheese and tomatoes to the flatbreads evenly.
  4. Drizzle the flatbreads with the olive oil.  Sprinkle your desired amount of garlic powder, oregano, & pepper.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven & let cool slightly.  Top with a drizzle of balsamic glaze and fresh basil.
  7. Enjoy!

Can I customize Pesto Flatbread Pizzas…

Of course you can customize these flatbread pizzas! There are so many ways to add more or different flavors to this recipe.

  • Swap the pesto for marinara as the base of the pizza!
  • Add some extra veggies! – onions, mushrooms, peppers, and spinach would all be delicious
  • Up the protein! – grilled chicken, prosciutto, or oven some meatballs. Yum!
  • Cheese. Always more cheese! Add extra mozzarella or even switch things up with parmesan or feta.
  • Spice it up! Red pepper flakes or a drizzle of hot sauce would be great additions if you like things hot.

How to store & re-heat Pesto Flatbread…

If you have any pesto flatbread leftovers, although I doubt you will, simply store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will keep for about 3-5 days!

Just pop back in the microwave or oven to re-heat and enjoy!

Instructions
