Ingredients needed for this Chocolate & Peanut Butter Granola…
This recipe calls for only 8 simple and healthy ingredients! You probably already have most of them on hand. This chocolate peanut butter granola is also completely dairy free! It can even be vegan if you swap the honey for pure maple syrup and gluten free if you use certified gluten free oats. Either way this granola recipe will make your chocolate peanut butter dreams come true!
- Oats: Old fashioned oats are the base of this easy granola recipe! You’ll need 2 cups.
- Peanuts: Peanuts add a delicious crunch and textural element to this chocolate granola. I recommend using lightly salted peanuts! Add 1/2 cup.
- Peanut Butter: Gotta have peanut butter in chocolate peanut butter granola. Be sure to use a natural peanut butter with only peanuts and salt as ingredients! This recipe calls for 1/4 cup separated.
- Coconut Oil: Refined coconut oil gives this granola its beautiful crisp & crunchiness! Make sure to use refined coconut oil. 1/4 cup is the perfect amount.
- Honey: Honey gives this chocolate granola a natural and refined sugar free sweetness. Add 2 tbsp!
- Cocoa Powder: Add 2 tbsp of cocoa powder for all things chocolate in this recipe.
- Chocolate Chips: I always use dairy free semi sweet chocolate chips, but you can really use whatever chocolate you want here. You’ll get chocolate perfection no matter what! Use 2 tbsp.
- Vanilla Extract: 1 tsp of vanilla extract simply perfects the flavor of this granola.

- Set the oven to 325 degrees.
- Start by adding the peanut butter (2 tbsp), honey, coconut oil, and vanilla extract to a small pot on the stove over low heat. Melt until smooth and combined evenly.
- Next combine the oats, peanuts, and cocoa powder in a large mixing bowl. Pour the peanut butter mixture on top and combine evenly.
- Transfer the granola to a parchment paper lined baking tray. Spread evenly and as thin as possible.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
- Drizzle the remaining peanut butter (2 tbsp) on top of the granola. Add the chocolate chips as well.
- Bake for another 10 minutes.
- Remove the granola from the oven. You can spread the melted chocolate and peanut butter around a bit with a knife here if you would like.

Tips for the Perfect Peanut Butter Chocolate Granola Recipe…
To get perfectly crunchy & crispy Peanut Butter Chocolate Granola every time follow the tips below:
- Make sure to melt! Make sure to melt the peanut butter mixture. I have tried to make this granola recipe without melting the peanut butter, coconut oil, honey, and vanilla extract together and the granola just did not turn out right! Melting the mixture ensures every oat & peanut is coated fully and crisps nicely.
- Spread thinly! Spreading the granola mixture as thinly as possible on the baking tray before baking is absolutely key to this recipe. The thinner the better! It makes sure all the granola gets crunchy instead of soggy or chewy.
- Cool completely! Last but certainly not least is letting this chocolate peanut butter granola cool completely before breaking up into chunks. It may be hard to wait, but trust me you will thank yourself in the end! Cooling allows for ultimate crunchiness.
How to store Peanut Butter Granola…
You can store this Chocolate Peanut Butter Granola in an airtight container on the counter at room temperature for about a week! I love storing in a recycled jar … its super cute and makes for such easy pouring. You’ll be grabbing easy handfuls every time you’re in the kitchen!
