Ingredient Notes
- Salmon: You’ll need two prepared salmon filets for this recipe! This is about 3/4 lb.
- Light Mayo: Light mayonnaise is the base of the creamy, sweet, and spicy sauce. You’ll need 2 tbsp! You could also use regular mayo if you would like.
- Thai Sweet Chili Sauce: Thai sweet chili sauce is what gives the sauce it’s delicious sweetness. 1 1/2 tbsp is perfect.
- Sriracha: And sriracha sauce is what gives it its spice. Add 1/2 – 1 tsp depending on how spicy you like it!
- Seasonings: This salmon dish gets so much flavor from the sauce, that you don’t need too much extra seasoning. Only 1/2 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

Expert Tips
Pat the salmon dry with paper towels before adding seasonings or sauce. This will help make for the crispiest salmon.
Adjust the spice level! Add more or less sriracha hot sauce to add more or less spicy flavor.
Line the baking dish or sheet with parchment paper. This makes for such easy cleanup!
Coat the salmon in a thin layer of sauce for a crispier, golden brown outside.
Coat the salmon in a thick layer of sauce for a saucy, creamy texture.
Garnish with green onions! It adds both a beautiful look and delicious taste.

Bang bang sauce is a sweet and spicy mayo based sauce! It was made super popular through Bonefish Grill’s bang bang shrimp appetizer.

Yes, salmon is super healthy! It is considered to be one of the most nutritious foods out there.
Salmon is a great source of protein, loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, and is high in B vitamins too. It also may reduce the risk of certain diseases!
I always use and recommend using Atlantic salmon!
Keeping the salmon skin on is recommended to make the most moist and juicy baked salmon. However, you can always take the skin off after cooking.
This is what I do! I don’t enjoy eating the skin so I just peel it off once baked. It comes off super easily.
But you could really do either! Skin on versus skin off wont make a crazy difference.
There are multiple ways to check to see if your salmon is cooked!
First, you can gently press into the fish with your finger or a fork to see if it flakes. If the salmon is cooked through it will flake right off!
You can also use a meat thermometer and check to ensure the thickest part of the fillet has reached an internal temperature of 145 degrees. This is what the FDA states as the safe temperature for seafood to be cooked to.
However, lots of people enjoy salmon cooked to a few degrees lower!
My personal favorite way to check if my salmon is cooked is to just cut into the fillet and see for myself.
You can store leftover salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will keep best for up to 3 days!
I recommend reheating salmon in the oven. I place in the oven at 350-400 degrees for about 10 minutes until warmed throughout.
