Ingredients

This veggie side dish is only made with a handful of simple ingredients! Six to be exact – plus salt and pepper.

The combination of honey and sriracha in this spicy sauce is just delectably delicious.

Ingredient Notes

  • Brussel Sprouts: You will need 32 oz fresh brussels to make this recipe! I love to use the prepared ones sold in most grocery stores.
  • Olive Oil: This recipe calls for 2 tablespoons of olive oil to get the brussel sprouts to golden brown, crispy perfection. You really will just need enough oil to cover the bottom of your pan or coat the vegetable thoroughly.
  • Honey: The sticky texture and sweetness of the honey bring this perfect side dish to the next level. 4 tablespoons of honey is perfect.
  • Sriracha: 2 tablespoon of sriracha adds the perfect amount of heat for me, but if you are spicy food lover – add more!
  • Garlic & Onion Powder: 1 tsp each of garlic powder and onion powder add the best flavor. Simple, but tasty!
  • Salt & Pepper: Lastly, you’ll add salt and black pepper to taste to this healthy side dish.

Substitutions & Additions

This side dish is quite simple so there are not too many changes you could make – but here are few substitutions and additions that could be made to meet your personal preferences, tastes, or needs.

Honey: Although the key element of this recipe is the honey sriracha mixture, emphasis on the honey, you could swap it out for a different liquid sweetener. Perhaps maple syrup or agave nectar!

Spices & Seasonings: I kept the seasonings super simple here, but feel free to add to your liking. I think some dried basil or ground ginger would be delicious. And if you are a spice lover, try adding more heat with red pepper flakes.

Oil: The olive oil in this recipe could be replaced with avocado oil. I love using this oil for pan roasting because of its high smoke point!

Expert Tips

Don’t overcrowd the pan – giving the sprouts some space will give you the most cripsy honey sriracha brussel sprouts.

Use a high heat to really get that crisp!

Don’t touch the brussel sprouts too much – letting them sit is what lets them get a nice and beautiful char.

If you are preparing this dish on a busy cooking day like Thanksgiving dinner, chop the sprouts ahead of time.

How to best store this recipe?

The best way to store this recipe is in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It should keep for about 3-5 days!

Although this dish is definitely most delicious when enjoyed fresh.

How to best re-heat this recipe?

There are multiple way to re-heat this recipe!

The easiest method would be to pop in the microwave for 30-60 seconds. This is quick, but not my favorite way as it will leave the sprouts a bit soggy.

I prefer to crisp them back up in the pan with a little olive oil over high heat. This should bring back some of the crisp and crunch that the green veggie will have lost while being stored!

You could also throw in the oven on a sheet pan at a high heat, around 400-450 degrees f.
