Ingredients
This easy chicken recipe is made with only a few simple ingredients!
Chicken breasts, fresh herbs, garlic, and half & half come together to make the best weeknight dinner for the entire family.
Ingredient Notes
- Chicken: This easy dinner recipe calls for 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts!
- Olive Oil: You’ll need olive oil here to sear the chicken. I think avocado oil would be great too. Use 1-2 tbsp!
- Butter: Butter is the base of this creamy herb sauce. It add a rich and delicious flavor! All you need is 2 tbsp.
- Fresh Garlic: Fresh garlic adds so much flavor to this dish. Mince 5 garlic cloves, or however much you’d like!
- Seasonings & Spices: This chicken recipe is rubbed with seasonings and spices which gives it so much incredible flavor! You will need 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1/2 tsp paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Chicken Broth: 1/2 cup chicken broth is used in this herb sauce. It lightens it up a bit and adds extra flavor!
- Half & Half: The main element of this sauce though is 1 cup of half & half! It makes for a luxuriously rich and creamy sauce. So good!
- Fresh Herbs: Fresh herbs might just be the most important ingredient here! You’ll need 1 tsp each of fresh rosemary, thyme, and sage.
Substitutions & Additions
There are a few substitutions and additions you could make to this delicious recipe for it to meet your personal preferences, tastes, or needs!
Chicken: This recipe calls for boneless, skinless chicken breasts but I think you could easily swap in boneless chicken thighs. The cooking time might just be slightly different!
Fresh Herbs: The fresh herbs use in this recipe are the chicken classics in my opinion – rosemary, thyme, and sage. But fresh parsley or oregano are great options too!
Cream: You could easily replace the half & half here with heavy cream. The results should be very similar.
Parmesan Cheese: I think parmesan cheese would be an excellent addition to this creamy chicken!

Do you have any recommendations on how I could possibly oven bake this instead of pan fry?! I can’t wait to try it! Thank you for sharing you recipes❤️
Flavors are good but this recipe is lacking a thickening agent. Sauce does not reduce in 10 minutes. I ended up whisking in 2 tbs of flour to get the sauce to a good consistency.
