Ingredients needed for Oatmeal Raisin Granola…
Cinnamon Oatmeal Raisin Granola calls for only a few simple and healthy ingredients. Less than 10 actually! Plus they make for a vegan, gluten free, and dairy free granola recipe.
- Refined Coconut Oil: Coconut oil helps to make this granola perfectly crunchy! You will need 1/4 cup refined coconut oil. Make sure to use refined, as unrefined or virgin tastes like coconut and will make your granola taste like coconut too.
- Pure Maple Syrup: My favorite refined sugar free sweetener is pure maple syrup. 3 tbsp is all you need for a delicious and rich sweetness here!
- Cinnamon: Cinnamon is the star of the show in this Cinnamon Raisin Granola. Add 2 tsp and a little extra for ultimate flavor!
- Vanilla Extract: 1 tsp of vanilla extract adds that classic taste we all know and love.
- Oats: Old fashioned oats are the base of this homemade granola recipe. You’ll need 2 cups!
- Light Brown Sugar: Just a sprinkle, 1 tbsp, of light brown sugar helps give that oatmeal raisin cookie feel I was going for with this granola. So yummy!
- Raisins: Raisins! The other star of the show. Add 1/3 cup to this granola after it’s done baking.
- Salt: Lastly, add a pinch of salt to enhance all the delicious flavors in this healthy breakfast recipe.
How to make Healthy Homemade Granola…
Making homemade granola is actually so easy to do! It may seem complicated, but it is anything but. All you have to do is mix the ingredients, bake, and then break up into crispy, crunchy clusters. It’s the best!
- Set the oven to 325 degrees.
- Add the coconut oil, maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla, and a pinch of salt to a pan or saucepan on the stove over low heat. Melt until smooth and evenly combined.
- Next add the oats to a large mixing bowl.
- Pour the melted liquid mixture over the oats. Mix until all oats are thoroughly coated.
- Then line a baking tray with parchment paper. Add the granola mixture to the tray and spread as thin as possible. The thinner you spread, the crunchier the granola will be!
- Sprinkle with the brown sugar and extra cinnamon. Bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely. Once cooled, break into chunks with your hands. Then add the raisins and combine.
- Enjoy!
Cinnamon Raisin Granola tips…
Follow the tips below for the perfect homemade granola each & every time!
- Spread thinly: Spreading your granola as thin as possible before baking will make for the crunchiest, crispiest granola. Which I’m pretty sure is what we all want!
- Let cool completely: This is another tip that will help in creating the ultimate crunchy granola. When the granola is done baking, you need to let cool completely before touching or breaking up. This is crucial for those delicious cinnamon clusters to form!
- Melting is a must: I have tried to make granola without melting the liquid ingredients together and it simply does not work well. It’s a must do step! And not hard or time consuming at all, so do not worry.
Healthy Granola Recipe additions…
You could add tons of yummy mix-ins to this granola!
Here are some of my ideas:
- Chocolate chips
- Nuts
- Seeds
- Shredded coconut
- Different dried fruit (like dried cranberries!)
Tip! I would mix in these additions after the granola has been baked, like with the raisins. If you were to add them to the original granola mixture with the oats you would need more liquid ingredients to ensure everything still got coated thoroughly.
How to best enjoy Oatmeal Raisin Granola…
You can enjoy this healthy granola recipe in any way you’d like!
My personal favorite is on top of a yogurt bowl with berries, peanut butter, and honey. Other options include on a smoothie bowl, with ice cream, in a bowl with milk, or just by the handful. Each and every way would be delicious!
How to store this Easy Breakfast Recipe…
Store Cinnamon Raisin Granola in an airtight container at room temperature. It should last about 1-2 weeks!
My favorite method is to store in jar. It’s super cute and makes for easy pouring. Which trust me you will be doing a lot of if this recipe is in your kitchen! Here are some jars I love.
