Healthier Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Bars
You know what is better than a chocolate chip cookie? Healthier cheesecake filling sandwiched between gluten free chocolate chip bars. Yup, I know … delicious. And trust me, these Healthier Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Bars are just as good as they sound.
I am so excited to bring this recipe to you guys. It is a healthier version of a treat that was always at my family’s celebrations. That original version is what initially sparked my deep love for cream cheese in sweet treats. I think the sweet & tangy combination is simply unbeatable, and could & would literally eat cream cheese frosting by the spoonful. If you feel the same way, these bars are absolutely for you!
What you need for these Healthier Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Bars!
My spin on Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Bars are gluten free, refined sugar free, and made with simpler, wholesome ingredients. You can also easily make this recipe dairy free if you use dairy free cream cheese!
- Almond Flour: If you have made any of my recipes you know of my love for almond flour! It is one of my absolute staples and is in almost all my gluten free treats.
- Oat Flour: If you have made any of my recent recipes, you also know what I love even more than almond flour is the combination of almond and oat flour. The texture the combination creates is crazy good! I also make my own oat flour by blending oats in a high speed blender until a fine flour forms.
- Coconut Sugar: Coconut sugar is one of my favorite refined sugar free options! It is a granulated sugar that I think has a similar feel and taste to brown sugar, which works perfectly in this recipe.
- Eggs: Eggs for moisture and binding!
- Coconut Oil: I always use refined coconut oil in my treats! Unrefined or virgin coconut oil tastes like coconuts and would make these bars taste like coconut too.
- Chocolate Chips: My chocolate chips of choice are dairy free semi sweet chips, but use whatever you have on hand or enjoy!
- Cream Cheese: My favorite part of this recipe! I have a deep love for cream cheese in sweet treats and this is no exception. I used a classic block of cream cheese, but you could also use a dairy free version if you want or need!
- Pure Maple Syrup: The pure maple syrup is used in this recipe to lightly sweeten the cheesecake filling. It adds a delicious maple flavor and also replaces the tons of refined sugar that is typically used.
- Vanilla Extract & Salt for all things flavor & Baking Powder for a little rise.

- Let cool, cut into squares, and enjoy!
How to store these Healthier Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Bars!
Since these bars have cream cheese in them, I recommend storing in the fridge. However, they could last a day or two in an airtight container on the counter before doing so. I do have to say though, I think the texture of these is almost better straight out of the fridge! Perfectly fudgey and delicious. I highly recommend!
