I am in the ultimate Christmas mood right now and literally all the recipes that I am thinking of involve the holiday in some way or another. My most recent creation is this Sweet & Salty Christmas Snack Mix. This snack mix would make for the perfect stocking stuffer gift. It is a super fun and easy homemade gift to give. And I absolutely love giving homemade gifts for the holidays because it just shows a little extra love and care! This snack mix is also great to make and have in your house throughout the holidays or to put out on the table during your actual Christmas celebrations. It will be gone before you even know it!

What you need for this recipe!

This snack mix is a perfect combination of salty and sweet, as you can probably tell from the name. It is basically a bunch of my favorite salty snacks topped with dark chocolate and sprinkles! It is also a healthier version than some of the typical Christmas snack mixes. The salty snacks used in this recipe are popcorn, gluten free pretzels, lightly salted peanuts, and chickpea snacks, which are all relatively healthy! I especially love the addition of the Biena Chickpea Snacks. These chickpea snacks have super minimal ingredients, give a lovely crunch, and even add a little protein boost to this snack mix! Everything is also drizzled with no sugar added dark chocolate and lastly, for a fun & festive holiday flare, the snack mix is topped with green & red sprinkles!

How to make this Sweet & Salty Christmas Snack Mix!

  1. Combine popcorn, chickpea snacks, peanuts, and pretzels on a baking tray. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler with coconut oil. You can also melt the chocolate chips in the microwave if you prefer.
  3. Drizzle the snack mix with the melted chocolate.
  4. Add in some more non-melted chocolate chips.
  5. Top everything with the sprinkles while the chocolate is still warm.
  6. Place in the fridge to let the chocolate harden.
  7. Once the chocolate is hardened, break up the snack mix into pieces.
  8. Store in festive jars or goodie bags for a holiday gift!

To truly make my snack mix into a cute and festive holiday gift I separated it into mason jars and tied a red sparkly ribbon around them! Feel free to go as crazy as you’d like here with the decorations, the more the merrier in my opinion!
