Trim the end off the Brussels sprouts and slice them in half.

Add the halved brussel sprouts to a large pan on the stove over medium heat.  Add about 1/2 cup of water.  Cover the pan and allow the sprouts to steam for about 5 minutes or until the water is evaporated.

Next add the olive oil to the brussel sprouts.  Bring to a high heat.

Season with salt and pepper.  Then let sit for a few minutes to develop a nice crisp and char.  Stir and let sit again.  Repeat this until you get your desired crispiness and char.
