Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 tsp minced ginger
- 1 bunch green onion, chopped finely
- 1 cup brown rice, dry
- 3 cups chopped broccoli
- Salt
- Pepper
Teriyaki Sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp light brown sugar
- 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
Corn Starch Slurry
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- Start by preparing the brown rice according to the package directions.
- Next prepare the broccoli however you’d like. I recommend a simple sauté or steam.
- Add the water, soy sauce, light brown sugar, and rice wine vinegar to a medium bowl for the teriyaki sauce. Combine. Set aside.
- In a separate small bowl combine the corn starch and water for the corn starch slurry. Set aside.
- Next add the oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, and the white parts of the green onion to a large skillet or pan on the stove over medium-high heat. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the ground turkey to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until the turkey is cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Be careful to not overcook, this will dry out the turkey.
- Pour teriyaki sauce and the cornstarch mixture into the skillet. Combine. Simmer until the sauce has reached your desired thickness.
- Assemble the bowls with the cooked brown rice, cooked broccoli, and ground turkey teriyaki. Garnish with sesame seeds and the green parts of the green onion.
- Serve and enjoy!
