Description

Crescent Roll Garlic Knots are a quick, easy, and delicious recipe! Made with pre-made crescent roll dough, butter, fresh garlic, parmesan, and mozzarella cheese … these homemade knots are buttery, cheesy, flavorful, and crispy on top. They are the perfect savory side dish or appetizer recipe for an Italian dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 cup salted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 1/2 tbsp minced fresh garlic
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Next in a mixing bowl combine the melted butter, parmesan cheese, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Then unroll the cans of crescent roll rough.  For each dough sheet there will be four rectangles, each with perforated lines on the diagonal to make into separate triangles.  Cut the crescent dough along the lines to separate into the four rectangles.  Then squeeze the triangle pieces together along the diagonal in each of the 4 pieces to make 4 cohesive rectangles of dough. Repeat for both dough sheets. See post for a visual.
  4. Spread about 1/2 tbsp of the garlic butter mixture in the middle of each rectangle of dough.  Sprinkle about 1/2 tbsp of the mozzarella cheese on top of the butter.  Make sure you have some butter mixture and mozzarella cheese leftover for the topping. See post for a visual again.
  5. Then roll up each rectangle into a long log shape.  Pinching both ends to ensure no stuffing falls out.
  6. Carefully roll out the dough logs a bit to make them thinner and longer.  Then tie each one into bread knots.  Simply knot them like you would make a regular knot.  The ends won’t pull all the way through to make a complete knot, but you can just tuck them into each other.
  7. Next place the knots on a baking sheet.  Spread the remaining butter mixture on top of the knots.  Sprinkle on the remaining mozzarella cheese too.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, and enjoy!
