Bring a large pot of water to a boil on the stovetop.  Add the green beans.  Boil for 2-3 minutes.

Remove the green beans from the pot and place immediately into a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.  Dry the green beans with paper towels.

Add cooking spray to a large skillet or pan on the stove over medium-high heat.  Once hot, add the blanched green beans. Sauté the beans for 3-5 minutes, until slightly blistered and browned.
