Quick, Easy, & Crispy Frozen Broccoli

I always keep my freezer stocked with frozen vegetables! They are affordable, convenient, and truly a great alternative to fresh vegetables.

However, it is important to know how to cook them properly. Because nobody wants mushy, bland veggies straight from the freezer bag.

That’s where this roasted from frozen broccoli comes in. It is my personal favorite way to cook frozen broccoli. The best way in my opinion!

This recipe uses already cut, trimmed, and cleaned frozen broccoli florets – which is a total time saver and mess preventer! You mix them with simple seasonings, you most likely already have, and throw in the oven for a cooking time of only 25 minutes.

You’ll have a great side dish ready to go in under 30 minutes. One that you can pair with any main meal for a little extra green in your life. It is so dang easy!

Try serving with my herb crusted salmon, mozzarella meatballs, or greek chicken breast.

Ingredients

This healthy side dish is made with only a handful of wholesome, simple ingredients!

Ingredient Notes

  • Frozen Broccoli: Frozen broccoli is of course the key ingredient here! You will need 4 cups of the frozen florets.
  • Parmesan Cheese: I have always loved parmesan cheese on broccoli. I think they go deliciously together. 2 tbsp is perfect!
  • Olive Oil: Add 2 tbsp olive oil to these frozen vegetables to crisp them up.
  • Garlic & Onion Powder: Garlic powder and onion powder give this oven-roasted broccoli incredible flavor. Add 1 tsp of each.
  • Italian Seasoning: 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning gives this simple side a bit of extra flavor!
  • Salt & Pepper: Add however much salt and black pepper you’d like.

Customizations

This recipe does not require too many ingredients, so you can’t customize too much. However, here are a few ideas.

Vegetable: Of course this is a broccoli recipe, so I do recommend you use the green veggie. But I do think this cooking process and method would work for different vegetables too. Perhaps green beans or cauliflower!

Oil: You could really use any oil you’d like. Try avocado oil for a neutral taste or sesame oil for an Asian flare!

Seasonings: The seasonings in this recipe could be replaced or added to with anything you like! Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, oregano, paprika, etc.

Keys To Crispy Broccoli

Break up any big chunks or large florets.

Roast in a very hot oven. A high temperature of 400 or 450 degrees F work best.

Make sure to broil at the end. This really helps make browned, crispy vegetables.
