Ingredient Notes

  • Pretzels: Pretzels are definitely required for this easy recipe! Any regular bag of pretzels will work. You will need 6 cups. This is the kind of mini pretzels I used!
  • Butter: I love using salted butter here! It adds the perfect salty sweet element to this delicious snack. Add 1/4 cup.
  • Sugar: 1/3 cup sugar adds just the right amount of sweetness here.
  • Cinnamon: Cinnamon! Probably the key ingredient here. This recipe calls for 1 tbsp but you can truly add however much you want.

Substitutions & Additions

This recipe calls for such minimal ingredients that you really can’t make many substitutions! However, I do have a few swap ideas and additional mix-ins you could add.

Pretzels: Any hard pretzels will work in this recipe! You could try the pretzel rods, snaps, or even crisps.

Sugar: You could swap the white sugar used here with brown sugar if you would like.

Butter: I love the flavor butter gives here. But you could replace it with an oil – like coconut oil or vegetable oil.

Mix-Ins: These pretzels make make for a great holiday gift! You could mix the pretzels with chocolate chips, nuts, m&ms, or more to create a snack mix.
